Reflecting on my 80-day journey around the world, I can’t help but smile as I recall the incredible adventures, the diverse cultures, and the unforgettable food that made this trip so special. Each destination brought something new to the table, both literally and figuratively.
In Thailand, the streets of Bangkok were alive with color and energy. I spent hours sampling street food, from the spicy som tam (papaya salad) to the sweet, creamy mango sticky rice. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and it was impossible not to be drawn into the vibrant street life. I also had the chance to visit the tranquil Wat Pho temple, where the giant reclining Buddha reminded me of the country’s deep spiritual roots.
Next, I ventured to Italy, where the landscape was just as breathtaking as the food. In Rome, I indulged in classic pasta dishes, like carbonara, and sipped wine in charming piazzas. My visit to Florence introduced me to the rich Renaissance art, and in Tuscany, I wandered through vineyards, tasting local wines and cheeses. It was a true feast for the senses, blending history, culture, and cuisine in perfect harmony.
My time in Morocco was a sensory overload. In Marrakech, I spent hours in the bustling souks, where the aromas of spices like cumin and saffron filled the air. I enjoyed tagine and couscous, learning how deeply food is tied to Moroccan culture. The warmth of the people and their hospitality made every moment even more memorable.
From New Zealand’s stunning landscapes and Japan’s serene temples to Brazil’s samba rhythms and Kenya’s breathtaking safaris, each destination offered something unique. The journey was a beautiful reminder that adventure, culture, and cuisine are the ultimate ways to connect with the world.
